Description
BMW launched the seventh-generation 5 Series in India in mid-2017 and has not given it any changes in terms of design or equipment since. The carmaker had unveiled a facelifted model of the car last year internationally which is expected to be launched in India by mid-2021. The prices of the current 5 Series model start from Rs. 55.99 lakh and go up to Rs. 69.07 lakh (ex-showroom). The 5 Series uses BMW’s Cluster Architecture Platform which was first introduced with the 7 series. The exterior design of the car has not changed except for a few minute upgrades. The 5 Series has BMW’s adaptive headlights which connect to the signature kidney grille. Besides that, it gets reworked 17-inch alloy wheels. BMW offers two colour upholstery choices with the high-end models – Canberra Beige and Black. It gets a 10.25-inch infotainment screen that supports gesture control, a rear-view camera and smartphone connectivity. There is a wireless charging pad as well. The 5 Series is presently available in four trim options – 530i Sport, 520d luxury line, 530d M Sport and 530i M Sport. The India bound facelifted 5 Series will have a refreshed front and rear design. BMW may launch a hybrid model of the mid-sized sedan as well. The 5 Series now competes against the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class as well as the Audi A6.
